Are Students Woking Too Much

Q3 Whom or what does Kramer blame for the problem of students working too much? Based on your experience as a college student, how valid are Kramer's indictments?

Kramer blames college costs, especially the tuition. Tuition has significantly risen so more hours of work are needed to cover the costs. Kramer gives a good point on how aid dosent really give much to students ,and the students who dont get aid might have to take out loans. I as a college know how expensive college is and that was a main factor in choosing my college. But its also part of life, yes college is expensive but in return your getting an education which hopefully in the future you'll earn that money back. Most of Kramers indictments are true but it does not apply to all students.

Could Your Facebook Profile Throw a Wrench in Your Future?

Question 5
I do not believe its ethical for students to access sites that has information on their professors. The difference between a professor and a student is, the professor already has the job while the student is trying to get a job. It doesn't matter what people say about the professor because most are their own opinions. But what a student puts on the internet for all to see are their own mistakes and actions. Most students rely on sites like ratemyprofessor.com to already have a feel for what the class will be like. But the problem with that is everyone has a different connection for the class and professor. The only similarity I see with social media is, if a student looks into that professors personal life. Just like how jobs and colleges look at students profiles, students might look into professors personal life to see who they really are. Either way I believe somethings are better not being known so you wont change your views.

Seeing a Gender Gap in Enrollements

Question 2
I believe you dont need to target a specific group of people for people to join a program or college. Its discriminating against others as well as favoring that particular group. Certain programs are understandable to attract a group like gender specific sports. Programs like that are acceptable, but why cant a group have the privilege to join the team or group because of who they are. From experience I've seen girls join the wrestling team to stand up for themselves as well as a symbol for others. Just like in college or in any school, certain incentives to join a specific sport include maintaining a certain GPA and having certain responsibilities. Everything should be equal, thats my personal opinion on gender equality. But if you make everything equal, then the sides would not argue or complain over the situation.

Were Lying: Safe Sex and White Lies in the Time of AIDS

Question 5

I think no matter the area or situation of the school, sex education should be enforced at school. I know from experience that parents don't talk to their kids about this stuff. In my school sex education was taught to us at age 13. We should be all mature by then and not little children giggling about certain body parts. The earlier you are exposed to the real world, the more likely you are prepared to deal with those situations or even avoid them. Certain schools avoid to teach sex education due to fundings and parents views on them. Some parents believe its not the schools role to teach the child and are too young to be learning those things. I believe with out sex ed, teen pregnancy would increase and the spread of STD's would also increase. Not everything in sex ed should be what not to do and what to do,but it should also include real facts about sex and give you insight on the real world. Sex ed is not intended to scare the child and prevent them from having sex,but give the child guidelines on safe sex and the do's and don't of safe sex. I would support and encourage sex ed in schools, its sad to see a teens life ruin from one bad decision.
