Could Your Facebook Profile Throw a Wrench in Your Future?

Question 5
I do not believe its ethical for students to access sites that has information on their professors. The difference between a professor and a student is, the professor already has the job while the student is trying to get a job. It doesn't matter what people say about the professor because most are their own opinions. But what a student puts on the internet for all to see are their own mistakes and actions. Most students rely on sites like ratemyprofessor.com to already have a feel for what the class will be like. But the problem with that is everyone has a different connection for the class and professor. The only similarity I see with social media is, if a student looks into that professors personal life. Just like how jobs and colleges look at students profiles, students might look into professors personal life to see who they really are. Either way I believe somethings are better not being known so you wont change your views.

  1. I agree that students shouldn't be able to look at their professors personal life. It's none of their business what they do and it only matters how good of a teacher they are. If they're a good teacher then it shouldn't matter what they do in their free time.
