Q #1
Chapter 2 suggest that students sometimes get mixed messages about things like sexuality, drinking and education. From my own experience I have gotten mixed messages on people in general. In high school gossip and rumors were all over the place. Asking about a person you'll get all sorts of feeed back, both positive and negative. So going off of what Im told, I had to be careful with associating with those people. But that wasn't fair to them, I was judging them based of rumors and gossip. I didn't allow myself to actually know the person and find out for myself if those rumors were true. So instead of avoiding those people I went over introduced myself and sat down to get to know them. It turns out those rumors weren't true at all, they were just rumors. What I learned was don't believe everything you hear, especially knowing its just gossip.
Judging people off of rumors isn't the right thing to do. People are too quick to judge. It's good you actually got to know the person and found out what they were like. You were able to see what kind of person they were for yourself.
